Format

We print on A3 with 10mm margin. The maximal printable area will be 277 x 400 mm.

Trimming for regular formats
Here is the number of prints you can bring in an A3 sheet. If you have a custom dimension, just set your crop marks as you wish.

Trimming for full printed formats / reduced formats
Note that a full printed format needs more sheets: So we can print on an A3 sheet only one full printed A4, two A5, four A6.
If you wish we can reduce the format to fit in the A3 dimensions. Let us know.

Colours

The soy-based inks of the risograph aren’t only eco friendly but also beautiful and bright. Because the inks aren’t totally opaque, you can superpose different colours to get new ones (metallic gold has a higher opacity than the others colours though).

We currently have 14 colours: 10 custom & 4 special colours (that end with*):

File set up

Grey scale & 1 file pro color
Set up a grey scale PDF file for each color (300dpi) used and name it with the colour you would like to have. If your project is a book, include page numbers in the filename.

Type
The text should be on only one layer (one color) and vectorised to stay crisp. We don’t recommend to write under 6pt. Please set the fonts under 12pt in registration black (100/100/100/100), and over 12pt in 100% black (0/0/0/100).

Registration
When printing more than one color, the different layers may shift lightly (2-3mm).

Name your files
Please name each files with the color and the format you would like use, and send us a proof of your artwork.
For example, if you use two colours for a poster, you will send us three files:

— steiner-A3_mint.pdf
— steiner-A3_orange.pdf
— steiner-A3_proof.png
